Year 1 Diversity Day - Chinese settlement in UK and Chinese New Year

The children explored the tradition of Chinese New Year. We started by discussing our prior knowledge and looked at the local settlement in Manchester. We shared and acted the story of ' The Great Race.' We then created dragon puppets and had our own dragon dance. Finally, we explored the tradition of giving money wallets to friends and family and created our own.
