EYFS Culture diversity day

Lesson: British Values

Class: Early Years Year: 2022 - 2023

This week Reception have been celebrating different cultures. We used a wonderful book, Clean Up, to help with our learning and looking at Jamaican traditions. We learnt about Jamaican weather, made flags, learnt about famous people from Jamaica such as Imani Wilmot, Bob Marley and Usain Bolt. Within the story, we discussed how we can look after our planet and gained understanding of how our pollution can affect other countries too, so we went out on a litter pick to play our part. To finish the week, we re-enacted the Notting Hill Carnival, dressed in bright colours, listened to reggae music, baked Jamaican ginger cake and drew portraits of Bob Marley.
