Engineer Visit

In Year 5 we were very lucky to have a visit from an engineer. He spoke about how he became an engineer and the qualities of what makes a good engineer. We discussed local engineering, such as BAe systems in Preston and bus manufacturing in Skelmersdale. The children were fascinated by an older model of a mobile phone, which took its inspiration from Star Trek! We also loved seeing how jet packs used in 007 movies had recently been created and tested in New York. We are now really enthusiastic about our own engineering projects and it was a brilliant opportunity to put a real life engineer in the hotseat!
