Year 3 Diversity Day - Looking at Disabilities

Lesson: British Values

Class: Year 3 Year: 2022 - 2023

Y3 had a fantastic diversity day, celebrating our differences, specifically focusing on different disabilities. We learned some sign language and used the braille alphabet to write our name and communicate with each other. In the afternoon, we were very lucky to be visited by Wigan Warriors. Ben Seward, the captain of the Wigan Warriors Physical Disability League, came to speak to us about his story. He was a true inspiration to the children. We learned all about the different types of disabilities in sports and most importantly, how this doesn't stop people from following their dreams. We finished off the day taking pictures with the Wheelchair Rugby World Cup trophy, which the Wigan Warriors team had kindly brought in to show the pupils!
