Parent Mail – 01/10/21

Dear Parents/Carers,

Well, what a wet week! Although the weather has been poor, the spirit, effort and enthusiasm of the children has been superb! Today I was proud to host assemblies back in front of the children in the hall and hand out certificates. As always, the diary is busy, so here are a few updates.

Coffee and Consultation Morning/PTA

It was great to speak to everyone who came to the coffee morning yesterday, it was a pleasure and we hope to create further opportunities for you to visit school in the future. At the event, we shared a parent survey and the feedback was positive and valuable. Paper copies of the survey can be obtained at the school office, or via MS TEAMS (see bottom of page for instructions). We are listening. Thank you also to those who have volunteered support for the school PTA. If anyone else would like to get involved in the upcoming events planned for our pupils and for fundraising, please pop into the office or catch me on the gate.

Parents’ Evening

It’s parents’ evening Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th October in school. Online booking forms have been shared via parentmail. Please contact the office if you need any help with this.

Prospective Parent Tours

Please visit the school website for details about the upcoming parent tours for prospective parents. Links to Wigan admissions for 21/22 are also currently on the homepage.

Head/Deputy Head Girl and Boy

We are extremely proud to announce our head girl as Graci Wadsworth and head boy as Luke Tennant. Our deputies are Lily-Mae Edmondson and Frank White. They were democratically voted in and we know they will do us proud this year.

Absence

Please could I ask parents to contact the school office directly, rather than messaging teachers on SeeSaw if your child is absent. Just a reminder that if your child is suffering from sickness and/or diarrhea, minimum absence period is 48 hours. Our protocols around Covid 19 still remain in place. If your child has symptoms, however mild, please book a PCR test.

For now, have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Mr R. Aldridge
