Headteacher’s Update – May 2022

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back to the new school term! It’s amazing to think that this is the final full term for our children in their current year groups – they have applied themselves very well this week, including in the afternoons where they have been reviewing their knowledge from the topics they have covered over the year. Well done!

Volunteer Readers

As you know at Marus Bridge we constantly aim to feed children’s love of reading.  They really enjoy reading to adults in school, but also listening to adults read. If you could offer any time at all to listen to, or read to pupils, it would be greatly appreciated. Please message your class teacher if you are interested in helping. A brew and a biscuit are included in the incentive scheme!

PSHCE/Relationships Consultation and Coffee – Wednesday 4th May @ 9.00am

We have recently made a change to our PSHCE/Relationships education policy and curriculum. These changes have been informed by consulting with all the staff and pupils in school, to discover what works really well and what benefits our pupils in a positive way to enhance their personal, social, health, citizenship, economic and relationship skills.

We would love to invite you into school on Wednesday 4th May after you have dropped your children off, to grab a coffee and include you in this consultation with an informal discussion about our PSHCE/Relationships education including the topics we teach, how/when they are taught and to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Looking forward to seeing you there.
