It has been assessment week for most children in school and teachers have been impressed with how well they have retained knowledge and understanding over the year. They have worked very hard and remained focused throughout, even in the warm weather. In other news, well done to Miss Evans’ Y2 class, who put on a great performance for their parents this morning. It was all about Ernest Shackleton’s Antarctic journey and the importance of determination: when the going gets tough, the tough get going! Finally in sports news, I am very proud to say that the Y5/6 football team also showed great determination to comfortably beat Marsh Green in the heat yesterday. The Y5/6 netball team were narrowly beaten earlier in the week, but certainly continue to improve and grow in confidence with more fixtures on the way.
We envisage a busy afternoon for next Friday’s Summer Fair and are hoping for fair weather too. All stalls and activities will be in the hall, infant yard or the school field (switched to Y1 and 2 classrooms in the event of rain). Gates will open at 2.30 with normal finish time of 3.05pm. Please see the flyer from FOMBA for all the details. Any rumours of a soak the headteacher stall are completely unfounded!
A polite reminder that school dinners need to be paid for in advance. Additionally, please can any outstanding monies owed be paid in full before the end of the school year. Thankyou.
We have a growing mountain of lost property. If you are missing anything, please let your child’s teacher know and we can direct you to lost property. It is really helpful if uniform and coats are labelled with children’s names, especially at the moment when children are taking off jumpers in the warm weather. Any lost property that is left by Friday and in good condition we will lay out and welcome you to take away and reuse it now or ready for the new academic year.
